School Development Family Surveys (March 31st, 2024)
We are pleased to announce that our School Development Surveys for the 2024/2025 school year are now open! Parents/guardians complete ONE survey for EACH SCHOOL attended by their children. Some questions are about your perception of the school in general or your involvement with the school. Other questions ask specifically about “your child”. If you have more than one child in this school, please think about your OLDEST child who attends this school when answering questions that say “your child”.

Please see the following memo for families from NLHealth regarding Norovirus. The NLHS Provincial Public Health Program would like to clarify that if students and/or staff are experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms (including upset stomach/nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain), they should stay home and refrain from attending events and activities until 2 days (48 hours) after the symptoms have subsided and the student/staff member is feeling well. As previously announced, families are advised that midterm examinations for all students will be taking place between January 20th - 24th. Community Based Campaigns - Hat & Mitten Drive, Stocking Campaign and Food Drive

We would like to thank all our community members who donated to the Student Social Justice Committee's Hat & Mitten Drive. With over 150 items collected, students and their families at HTH have once again shown their generosity and willingness to help those who are the most in need!

Choices for Youth - Stocking Campaign: Each year HTH collects stockings of toiletries and  essentials to donate to Choices for Youth. As we have in the past, students who submit stuffed stockings will receive 3 community career hours toward graduation. For students who are in Career Education, more information will be shared by their teachers in the coming days. For students who have already completed Career Education, stockings can be dropped off directly to the office. This year we are accepting stockings from December 9th - December 19th, with our delivery planned for December 20th.

Community Food Drive: Our Social Justice Committee is also hosting a food drive for in-need families. Donations for the Northeast Avalon Foodbank will be accepted beginning next week by Homeroom teachers. Non-perishable items are preferred. If you have additional questions, please contact Ms. Nicole Reid.

Christmas Kindness Campaign: Each year our school counseling team collects monetary donations to help out deserving families in need during the Holidays. If you would like more information, or are interested in making a donation, please connect with Ms. Amy Small or Ms. Erin Cavanagh

Student Sign Out Procedures - Early Dismissals
To help us ensure our attendance records are accurate while minimizing classroom disruptions, we are asking all families to connect with the office by email (holytrinityhigh@nlesd.ca) if your child is signing out. Please provide the date, time and reason they will be excused from class, and every effort will be made to ensure this is communicated to our office staff prior to their early dismissal.

In addition to this, we ask that families only sign out their child between 2:40 - 3:10 if it is absolutely necessary.  Each day we are receiving dozens of phone calls during this time and classes are frequently being interrupted due to an increased number of students leaving early. While we recognize there are valid reasons why students will need to leave early, we ask that you carefully consider when you are providing permission for your child to leave school.

If students have not been contacted by a member of these teams they are expected to attend their scheduled classes. Course Change Requests
As a reminder for all students and families, course change requests will be accepted between Sept 4th - Sept 9th. Priority for changes is given based on High School Graduation Requirements. If your child has indicated they would like a schedule change, please direct them to complete the Google Form (Click Here). Due to the considerable volume of students who submit requests, all requests must be submitted through this form. The form will open for requests on September 4th, 2024.

New Families - Open House and School Tour (August 29th, 2024)

Welcome to Holy Trinity High School. Whether you're arriving at our school from Juniper Ridge Intermediate, or have recently moved into our community, our goal is to ensure you have all the information you need for a successful start to the academic year.

To ensure all families are familiar with our school we are once again offering an Open House for new students and families on Thursday, August 29th from 1:00PM - 2:00PM. This opportunity will include a presentation from members of the administration and a guided tour of our building.

Additional information on school opening will be sent to all families on Friday, August 30th by e-mail and will be posted on our website under 'Memos and Reminders'

Volunteers Needed!

We are seeking Grade 10, 11 and 12 students who can help lead our tours on Thursday. Each student will receive a minimum of three (3) volunteer hours (Career Education Requirements) for their time. Interested students are asked to contact Mrs. Stephanie Chaytor (stephaniechaytor@nlschools.ca)
